I’ve created this blog to share my love of all things food and drink. With a life long love of all aspects of the culinary world I just don’t work in the food and wine industry, it’s my passion, something that became a strong influence on every aspect of my life from an early age. My first cookbook was given to me at 6 yrs old and I was hooked!
Over the years I’ve been an award-winning cocktail specialist, food and beverage manager, chef, restaurant owner, food and wine consultant, contributing writer to wine publications, wine and cheese educator and a designer of unique corporate wine events/outings.
While in the restaurant industry I spent most of my break time hounding the old school European chef’s for secrets, recipes and stories of their own culinary journey. I’ve been known to spend my days off researching and learning recipes handed down from generation to generation. Whether I’m hunting down exotic ingredients, buried in a pile of vintage cookbooks or interviewing a Granny on the fine art of making the perfect perogie I’m fascinated with the history of culinary culture.
I’ve attended more wine and food seminars than I can count, including specialty courses at the New School and the French Culinary Institute. I hold the Wine and Spirits Educational Trust Advanced Certificate, Certified Specialist of Wine status from the Society of Wine Educators and the Master/Professional Certificates from the Artisanal Cheese Center in Manhattan. My love of wine has also led me to study in the vineyards of Austria, Italy, Germany, France, Turkey and Spain with stops in cheese caves and small family farms.
Being NY born and bred I feel the local food, wine and whiskey movement produces some of the best specialty products available. NYC is a treasure trove filled with flavors from around the globe and I love to share my finds.
Travel along and discover new wines, recipes and ideas to tempt your palate.
